Zoning Board of Appeals
The Zoning Board of Appeals handles requests for variances or exceptions to local zoning laws and regulations. It provides a forum for property owners to appeal decisions made by the Zoning Enforcement Officer or seek permission for specific land-use activities that do not conform to existing zoning restrictions. The Zoning Board of Appeals' goal is to ensure fair and equitable treatment while balancing individual property rights with the broader community's interest and zoning objectives.
The Zoning Board of Appeals regularly meets on the second Thursday of every month in the Town Meeting Room located in the Town Hall.
The board is comprised of five regular members and three alternate members. Regular members serve a five-year term and alternate members serve a three-year term. All members are appointed by the Town Council.
