Dog Licensing
What you need to know about Licensing your Dog:
Pursuant to Connecticut General Statute the owner of each dog over the age of six (6) months must license their dog(s) with the Office of the Town Clerk between June 1st and June 30th.
For first time licensing, or if your dog's rabies vaccination has expired, you must include a valid rabies certificate in order to license your dog(s). In order to obtain the discounted license fee for your spayed/neutered animal(s), you must include a copy of the spay/neuter certificate from your veterinarian.
The licensing fee is $8.00 for each spayed/neutered dog and $19.00 for those NOT spayed/neutered. There is a $1.00 per month late fee assessed for overdue licenses.
Licenses may be obtained in person at the Killingly Town Clerk's office during normal business hours. For your convenience, you can download the Dog License Application here and bring to the Town Clerk's office for processing; payment in full is due at that time. You may also mail your application and fee into the Town Clerk's office (with a self-addressed stamped envelope) for the return of your dog tags.
Things to Remember:
Have more than 1 dog? A separate application NEEDS to be completed for each dog you license.
- Payment can be taken in cash IN OFFICE ONLY and checks are made payable to "Town of Killingly".
*If you have any questions regarding licensing your dog, please call the office to discuss.*
